Dr. Barouir Deirmenjian
As a general dentist, Dr. Deirmenjian is devoted to providing quality, rewarding, and compassionate care to every patient that visits him. Serving as the founder and CEO of B. Deirmenjian and Affiliates, he serves patients at many multi-specialty facilities in California, including Los Angeles, San Gabriel Valley, Riverside and San Bernardino counties and has just added three new locations in the San Diego area.
With nineteen locations in California, B. Deirmenjian and Affiliates serve patients of all ages, from all backgrounds, and from every walk of life. The team of specialists, general dentists, assistants, and benefit coordinators offer a number of services, including: cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, endodontics, family dentistry, oral surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and periodontics. They are dedicated to making dental care rewarding, so that individuals have a reason to share their smile.
Before entering private practice, Dr. Deirmenjian served as Dental Director at Guards Dental, where he demonstrated strong leadership skills in operating over 40 locations. Subsequently, he established his own family dental private practices, Smiles West, Desert Dental Group, and Ponderosa Dental Group.
To prepare for his career, he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California at Irvine, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1988. Furthering his studies, he went on to obtain his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in 1999.
Remaining abreast of the latest dental developments, Dr. Deirmenjian is an active member of the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association. He is also a peer-review member at MetLife Insurance and Liberty Dental, sits on the advisory committee of Henry Schein Dental, is a UCLA adjunct professor, and is board-certified by the Dental Board of California.
Revered for his extensive 30+ year leadership background, Dr. Deirmenjian has been voted #100 on the Inc.5000 Series list of the Fastest-Growing Companies in California and #1528 of the Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Companies nationally. He was also named one of LA Business of the Year, Best Office by Insurance Companies, and one of the Emerging Dental Groups to Watch 2020 by Group Dentistry Now.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
An active member of his community, Dr. Deirmenjian truly enjoys helping the less fortunate and volunteering when he can with food drives and community outreach initiatives. Previously, he has participated in pro bono work for human trafficking victims in the Los Angeles area. He was also involved in a health fair head-start program, senior citizens program, and maintained an affiliation with Veteran Affairs.
In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors. He is fluent in English, Armenian, Spanish, and French.
Dr. Rami Sarkis
Dr. Rami Sarkis is a skilled and compassionate general dentist with nearly two decades of experience in the field. Originally from Baghdad, Iraq, he began his dental career by earning his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Baghdad, School of Dentistry in 2006. After years of hands-on experience treating a wide range of complex cases, he further advanced his education by obtaining his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from UCLA School of Dentistry in 2018. Throughout his career, Dr. Sarkis has developed expertise in root canal therapy, surgical procedures, and other advanced treatments, allowing him to provide high-quality, patient-focused care. He is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), and the San Diego Dental Society, staying committed to professional growth and the latest advancements in dentistry.
For Dr. Sarkis, dentistry is not just about procedures—it’s about making a real difference in his patients’ lives. One of the most rewarding aspects of his work is alleviating severe dental pain and seeing his patients return with a smile. He believes that effective communication and building trust is essential in dentistry, as treatment is a collaborative process between the doctor and the patient. Dr. Sarkis joined our current practice in 2025, drawn by its strong sense of teamwork, professionalism, and dedication to high-quality patient care. He appreciates the supportive and well-educated team, where respect and collaboration create an environment that enhances both patient experiences and professional fulfillment.
Outside the office, Dr. Sarkis enjoys a well-rounded life filled with creativity and family. A passionate soccer player and musician, he loves playing the keyboard and expressing himself through writing, acting, and directing drama plays. Most importantly, he values time spent with his wife, who is also a dentist, and their two children.
Dr. ThuyDuong Truong
Dr. Truong received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts with the highest honor Summa Cum Laude. After receiving her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Harvard School of Dental Medicine, she spent three more years as a postdoctoral fellow in orthodontics. She received her Certificate in Orthodontics from Harvard University. At the same time, she was also a research fellow at the Biotherapeutic Laboratory of the Harvard Institute of Human Genetics researching a cure and vaccine for breast cancer. She received a Master of Medical Science from Harvard University. She also received several awards and honors and was listed in Who’s Who Asian American in Massachusetts in 2001.
Dr. Truong has been practicing dentistry for over 25 years. She hopes to help you and your family improve your oral health and comfort and achieve balance and harmony between the teeth and the face. Her goal is not just to straighten your teeth but to perfect your beautiful and attractive smile.
Besides dentistry, Dr. Truong enjoys cooking, sewing, knitting, gardening, painting, playing her “dan tranh”, a Vietnamese musical instrument, and coaching middle school students for the Science Olympiad competition. She lives happily in San Diego with her husband, a professor at UCSD, and their 3 sons.
